Norman Virus
Control (NVC)
Norman anti-virus software has been protecting millions of users worldwide since
1988. As a matter of fact, Norman was the first anti-virus company to produce
an anti-virus product. NVC is extremely adaptable and can be configured to suit
all users, from individual to enterprise. Comprehensive administration utilities
assist with network distribution and monitoring.
NVC is
available for most Windows Platforms including Win 9x, NT and 2000; Novell
Netware; Microsoft Exchange, Exchange 2000 and Exchange 2003; Lotus Domino and
OS/2. NVC for Linux is available in three formats to cater to most Linux
variants including Red Hat, Suse, Mandrake, Debian and Slackware. NVC is
extensively used as a “plug-in" to various email and content security
applications. NVC also caters for Content Vectoring Protocol (CVP) based
firewalls such as Firewall –1. You’ll never need to buy another version again!
Automatic updates contain both the latest virus definitions plus any changes
to the software, the update frequency is determined by the user. NVC features
SandBox II technology that creates a virtual environment in which code behaves
as it would in a 'live' environment, allowing NVC to detect unknown viruses,
worms and trojans.
The Sandbox, for which Norman has a patent pending, represents a milestone in
non-signature based detection of new, unknown viruses. All Norman licences
include uncharged, unlimited product support for the life of the licence.
